Why the losing-coaches version works
The first viral clip, posted on October 18, 2026, put five head coaches whose teams had lost into the band, smiling and swaying through a song called “Outstanding”. The gap between the result and the song title is the whole joke, and the sax reveal at the end gives you a second punchline: the most unlikely member of the staff gets the solo.
Sports accounts turned it into a weekly format. After an upset, people post asking for their team’s version, often naming exactly who should sing lead and who belongs on sax.
Making a version for your team
Cast friends, family or teammates who agree to play the roles. Put the person doing the head-coach bit on lead vocals, the defensive and offensive coordinators on backing vocals, the close-up on whoever reacts loudest, and save the sax for the biggest surprise. Name the team in the caption and dress the band with an “Outfit:” note in team colours.
Because the band is built from your photos, this works for any level: a high-school team, a rec league, a pickup group or your Sunday watch party.
Fantasy leagues and group chats
A fantasy league is a ready-made band: the last-place manager on lead, the commissioner on sax, the trade-veto complainers on backing vocals. Collect a selfie from each manager and post the clip in the league chat after the scores lock.
Why you can’t upload the actual coaches
Viral versions use real coaches and players, but those are public figures, and this site does not accept photos of celebrities, public figures or anyone who has not agreed. You also do not need footage of the coaches: the clip is built entirely from five still photos, so friends standing in make the joke land just as well.
