Where to find the tiny desk meme template
Search the Templates tab in the CapCut app for “tiny desk” or “outstanding”, or open a TikTok that used one and tap the template link above the caption. Templates come and go as the trend moves, so the most-used one this week may not be there next month.
What the template can and cannot do
It handles the edit: the sound, the beat-matched cuts, text styles and the vertical frame. Drop in a reaction video or a clip of your friends and it lines everything up to the music.
What it cannot do is create the band. The desk, the bookshelves, the laughing close-up and the sax player only exist in the template if you already have footage of them. That is why most posts you see either start from an AI clip or use the template as a reaction with someone in the corner.
Finishing an AI clip in CapCut
If you made the band clip with an AI generator, CapCut is a good place to add captions that name the team or the occasion. Import the MP4, keep the 9:16 frame so nothing gets cropped, add your text in the first two seconds and export.
Clips from this site come with the reference sound or silent. Choose silent if you plan to add the trending sound in TikTok or Reels instead, so the two do not play over each other.
When you do not need CapCut at all
The 14-second clip from Tiny Desk MeMe is already vertical, already cut into the band shot, the laugh and the sax reveal, and ready to post. TikTok and Reels both have built-in text tools, so many people skip the editor and caption the post directly.
