Privacy Policy | Tiny Desk MeMe

Which personal data Tiny Desk MeMe handles for photo uploads, generated clips, payments and cookies, how long it stays with us and how to use your privacy rights.
Oct 29, 2026

We began applying this policy on 29 October 2026, and it has not been revised since.

1. Introduction

Tiny Desk MeMe runs a tiny desk meme maker that turns one to five portraits into a short video at tinydeskmeme.video (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains which information the Service collects from you and how that information is used, disclosed, retained and kept safe.

2. Information We Collect and Process

What we hold about you depends on the features you use. In general it falls into these groups:

  • Account information: name, email address, login identifiers, profile and preference fields, and session data.
  • Generation information: the portraits you upload, the role each one fills, the resolution, sound and optional outfit note you choose, the storyboard frames and videos produced for you, the status of each job, your creation history and the times attached to all of these.
  • Payment and subscription information: the plan or credit pack purchased, your credit balance, order references, whether a payment went through, the billing email, invoice details, renewal status and limited payment metadata. Your card number is entered with the payment processor and is never stored on our servers.
  • Technical and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages and features you visit, request timestamps, error reports, performance measurements and signals that help us detect abuse.
  • Communications: anything you send to support, including content reports, privacy requests, feedback and later replies.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: data that keeps your login active, secures your session, remembers language or display settings, measures usage and enables the core product.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information above in order to:

  • Operate the performance clip maker, your account, your creation history, subscriptions and credits
  • Verify who you are when you sign in, keep the session alive and help you regain access to a locked account
  • Pass your uploaded portraits, reference frames and instructions to the image and video models that build your clip, then return the finished video to you
  • Process checkouts, add or deduct credits, produce invoices and handle cancellations or refunds
  • Detect prohibited content, fraud, security incidents and misuse
  • Investigate failed renders, monitor page speed, learn which models people choose and improve the Service
  • Respond to support, content, legal and privacy enquiries
  • Comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Service

Depending on where you live, the legal basis for this processing is our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and protecting the Service, a legal duty we have to fulfil, or your consent where the law requires it.

4. Photos and the Clips You Generate

To create the clip you request, we process your uploaded portraits, your settings, the intermediate storyboard frames and the output. For that purpose this information may be passed to third-party providers of AI models, hosting, storage and safety screening. At present the Service uses OpenAI’s GPT Image 2 image model to draw storyboard frames and ByteDance’s Seedance 2.5 video model to animate them, both reached through the API provider Kie. The Service does not offer free-form text-to-video or standalone image generation. This list will be updated if models are added or replaced.

A photo that shows a face serves only as the visual reference for the render you asked for. We do not create facial-recognition templates from it and do not use it to identify any person. Upload only pictures of yourself or of adults who agreed to appear in a clip, and do not upload confidential material or personal data you have no right to share. Automated safety tools may scan uploads and results to detect prohibited content and abuse.

5. Cookies and Analytics

Strictly necessary cookies, or similar storage, keep you logged in, protect your account and make the core features work. We may additionally use preference and analytics tools to remember your choices, count how features are used, investigate slow pages and improve the Service.

You can control most cookies through your browser settings. Disabling the necessary ones will normally sign you out and stop the maker from working. Where consent is legally required for non-essential analytics, we obtain it before those tools run.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We disclose it only as far as necessary to:

  • AI and content-safety providers that process photos and outputs for the model you picked or for safety checks
  • Cloud hosting and storage providers whose servers run the Service and hold the photos and clips it handles
  • Payment providers that handle purchases, subscriptions, refunds, fraud checks and tax or billing obligations, which may include Waffo Pancake or another provider displayed at checkout
  • Login, email, analytics, monitoring and support providers that help us run and secure the Service
  • Authorities or other parties where the law or a legal process demands it, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect users, rights, safety or the integrity of the Service
  • A successor organization in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets involving the Service, subject to suitable safeguards

Each of these providers is bound by contract to use the data only for the service we engaged it for and to keep it confidential and secure.

7. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed to run the Service, keep your history, maintain security, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and satisfy legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations.

  • Account and generation information may be retained while your account stays open or while history features remain enabled.
  • Uploaded photos and generated clips may remain in your history or in the storage the Service needs to deliver them.
  • Billing and transaction records may be retained for as long as tax, accounting, payment, fraud-prevention and dispute rules require.
  • Security logs and support conversations may be held for as long as operations and legal duties reasonably call for.

After we have verified a request to delete data or close an account, eligible personal data is removed or de-identified within 30 calendar days. Encrypted backups may hold a copy for at most another 90 days before the backup rotation overwrites it. Some records may be kept beyond these periods where we need them to comply with the law, prevent fraud, handle chargebacks, resolve disputes or defend legal claims.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Subject to the law where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Learn which categories of personal data we collect, how we use them and with whom we share them
  • See your personal data or receive a copy of it
  • Have incorrect or incomplete account details fixed
  • Ask for eligible personal data to be deleted and for your account to be closed
  • Restrict or object to particular processing
  • Get some of your data in a structured, machine-readable file you can take elsewhere
  • Withdraw consent you have given
  • Stop promotional emails while still receiving receipts and security notices
  • Lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in your country

How to exercise your rights

Email support@tinydeskmeme.video from the address linked to your account and use the subject line Privacy Request or Account Deletion Request. Let us know whether you are asking for access, correction, export, restriction, objection, account closure or deletion, and identify the account or data in question.

To make sure we do not reveal or delete someone else's data, we may ask for reasonable information to confirm it is you. Eligible requests are acknowledged and carried out no more than 30 calendar days after they reach us. If the law allows extra time for a complex request, we will tell you why and give you a revised completion date. You can change your name and some other profile details yourself under Settings.

Closing an account does not remove payment, security, fraud and dispute records that we must keep by law, or legitimately need, to protect the Service and its users.

9. International Data Transfers

The Service and the providers it relies on may handle your information in countries other than your own. Where the law requires it, such transfers are covered by suitable safeguards, for example contractual clauses, recognized adequacy mechanisms and access controls.

10. Security

Reasonable technical and organizational measures protect your information, including encrypted connections, access controls, protection of credentials, logging and, where suitable, content-safety and anti-abuse checks. No service on the internet can guarantee complete security.

Should we become aware of a personal-data incident that we are legally obliged to report, we will inform affected users and the competent authorities within the period the law sets.

11. Children's Privacy

Children under 13 are not the audience for the Service, and we never knowingly collect personal information from them. Any higher minimum age required by the laws that apply to you must also be met. Photos of minors may not be uploaded to be turned into clips. If you think a child has given us personal information, let us know so we can investigate and delete eligible data.

The Service may link to or work with outside services, such as the social networks where you share your clips. Each of them has its own privacy policy; what they collect independently falls outside this Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to This Policy

As the Service, our providers or the law evolve, we may update this Privacy Policy. Any new version will appear on this page with an updated date at the top, and where the law requires it we will give extra notice of material changes.
